AGNT
What it is
AGNT is a local-first workspace for doing whole jobs with AI rather than asking one-off questions. The desktop app combines chat, an agent manager, a visual workflow builder and a canvas that mixes writing, charts, code, images and audio. You bring the models: supported AI subscriptions, API keys, or local models through Ollama and LM Studio. Workflows connect triggers, tools and code from a library of more than 119 tool nodes, and credentials stay in a local encrypted vault. The core app is free for personal use, education, nonprofits and small businesses, while paid cloud plans add remote execution, encrypted sync, webhooks and shared team vaults.

Editor's notes
More context from AI BirdView
AGNT stands out by treating AI as a place to do the work rather than a box that returns answers. Chat, agents, workflows and a mixed-media canvas live in one desktop app, and the whole thing runs on your own hardware with whatever models you already pay for. Its source is published on GitHub, which adds a welcome layer of transparency.
- Runs locally on Windows, macOS and Linux, with Docker and self-hosting options
- Connects to supported AI subscriptions, API keys, or local models via Ollama and LM Studio
- Visual workflows link triggers, tools and code, with configuration shown beside the graph
- Credentials are kept in a local encrypted vault with audit receipts
- Optional cloud plans add remote execution, encrypted sync and shared team vaults
AGNT is best for developers, researchers and technical operators who want agent automation without handing every credential to a hosted service. Under its license terms, the free Community Core covers personal use, education, nonprofits and businesses under $1M in revenue with up to 10 people. A practical tip: start by running a single research or reporting job locally, and only turn it into a saved workflow once the result proves worth repeating.
