Knowunity

Knowunity is a study app for school students that combines an AI tutor with a large library of study notes shared by other students, plus quizzes, flashcards and mock exams. Its advantage is the content underneath the AI: rather than answering from general knowledge only, the companion draws on millions of notes written for real school curricula, which helps its answers line up with what students are actually taught.

What is Knowunity used for?

Knowunity is used for everyday homework help and for exam preparation, mostly on a phone.

• Asking the AI companion to explain a homework question or a topic from class
• Browsing study notes made by other students for the same subject and grade
• Getting a personalized study plan that adapts to skills and progress
• Practicing with quizzes and flashcards generated in the chat
• Taking mock exams before tests
• Connecting with other students who study the same subjects

Who Knowunity is best for

Knowunity is best for middle and high school students who want quick help on homework and a supply of notes that match their country's curriculum. It suits students who study on their phones and like a social, peer driven feel. University students and adults working through advanced or professional material will find the content less relevant.

Knowunity pricing

As of October 2026, Knowunity's website says the app is free, including access to study content, connecting with other students and instant help. The iOS and Android apps also sell an optional Knowunity Pro subscription, but the website does not publish a price, and app store listings show different prices by country and plan length. Check the in-app purchase screen in your region for the current price and trial terms before subscribing.

Limitations to keep in mind

• Pro pricing is only shown in the app and differs by country
• Shared notes are created by students, so accuracy and depth vary
• The app is designed for school level content rather than university courses
• Younger students may need guidance to use the AI for learning instead of copying answers

Knowunity vs alternatives

Quizlet is the better choice for flashcard focused study and has strong classroom adoption, especially in the US. Gauth is quicker for scanning a single homework problem and seeing a worked solution. ChatGPT is far more flexible but does not come with curriculum matched notes from other students. Knowunity wins for school students who want free notes from peers on the same syllabus and an AI tutor built around that content.

Tips for getting started with Knowunity

Set your country, grade and subjects carefully during signup, since that is what makes the notes and answers relevant. When you use the AI companion for homework, ask it to explain the method and then quiz you on a similar question. Save the best notes for each subject into your own collection early in the term so revision starts from material you trust.
