Tucky
What it is
Tucky is a native macOS notes app from coconutStudio that docks sticky notes along the edge of the screen. The notes stay out of the way until you reach over, then fan out so you can open one and write in live Markdown with checkbox tasks. Notes are encrypted and stored locally on the Mac. A built-in AI assistant can be summoned with a global shortcut from any app to search, write, rewrite or answer questions across your notes, and paid users can connect Gmail, Google Calendar, Docs, Sheets, GitHub and Notion and use voice dictation. The free tier includes monthly AI credits, and it requires macOS 15 or later on Apple silicon or Intel.

More context from AI BirdView
Tucky takes a small but clever idea, notes that live on the edge of your screen, and pairs it with an AI assistant that is always one shortcut away. Instead of switching to a separate notes window or chatbot tab, you reach to the side of the display, open a note and ask a question right there. It feels closer to a desk drawer than a full workspace app.
- Notes stay hidden along the screen edge until you need them, keeping the desktop clear
- Content is encrypted and kept in a local file on the Mac
- A global shortcut opens the assistant from any app, and another asks about the current note
- The app asks permission before sending a note's body to the AI, sending only titles by default
- Plus users get voice dictation in many languages and connectors for Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, GitHub and Notion
It is best for Mac users who jot quick notes all day and want light AI help without adopting a heavy knowledge base. A practical tip: sign in even if you only plan to use the free tier, since signing in lifts the cap from five local notes to unlimited notes and adds the monthly AI credit allowance.
